What is the most precious thing we, as Buddhist practitioners, have to offer our family, sangha friends and others close to us at the time of their death? It is to practise for them and sponsor practices on their behalf. At this crucial moment, there is nothing of greater importance than to pray for their liberation or at least a better rebirth.
To begin we would like to thank everyone who made possible Rigpa’s main projects of 2024: the Temple in Dzogchen Beara, the powerful stupas in Lerab Ling, Dharma Mati Berlin, Sukhavati and Tashi Ding, and to hold two major Drupchens with Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche… What wonderful accomplishments! Emaho! What’s next in 2025?

Something extraordinary will soon be happening right here at Dharma Mati in the heart of Berlin—the construction of a new Stupa. What a rare sight in the middle of a Western city! Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche specifically chose the Stupa of Vitality (or Stupa of Complete Victory), for Dharma Mati. This type of stupa is associated with longevity and is believed to promote the long life of the masters and practitioners who uphold the Dharma. How can we all help to bring this to fruition?

In June, Alak Zenkar Rinpoche made a deeply appreciated visit to Lerab Ling when he gave several oral transmissions and joined us in the practice of Sollo Chenmo. Recently, Khenchen Namdrol Rinpoche and his monks and nuns conducted a one-week Shitro puja (a practice of the 100,000 paceful and wrathful detities) which is an especially powerful practice for those who have died. Many prayers requested by Rigpa students were offered during the puja. Watch these short videos and images of the practices.
