Recommences after summer break on 2 October: Led by Shedra teacher, Chantal Bergers, this course will study Shantideva’s classic text, the Bodhicharyavatara or The Way of the Bodhisattva. This online course will be based on teachings given at the Rigpa Shedra in Nepal in 2019, and will follow a Shedra approach to studying a classical Buddhist text but converted to an accessible online format.

Chagdud Khadro was the wife and devoted student of Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche, a great master of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. She was ordained as a lama in 1997 since which time she has focused on maintaining the high calibre of Vajrayana training Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche had established.

Formerly a journalist in the United States, and now a lineage holder of the ‘ancient’ school of Tibetan Buddhism, Khadro has a profound experience of living a fully spiritual life that bridges the worlds of ancient wisdom and modern challenges.

Rigpa is looking forward to welcoming Chagdud Khadro to teach in its centres in Dzogchen Beara in Ireland, Hamburg and Zurich in September.

Contact with such people can awaken our intelligence, curiosity and longing, and perhaps even inspire us to look deeper into the meaning of our ordinary lives. Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche is one of these people.

Kongtrul Rinpoche has taught in Rigpa centres over the last 21 years. We look forward to welcoming him to Rigpa's city centre in Berlin in August, 2019.

Andy Karr is a writer, photographer, longtime meditation practitioner, and Buddhist teacher. He trained intensively with two of the great founding teachers of Western Buddhism: Shunryu Suzuki Roshi and Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. Karr is the author of two books—Contemplating Reality and The Practice of Contemplative Photography—which are concerned with investigating the nature of mind and the phenomenal world, and helping people cultivate clear seeing.

Everyone is warmly invited to join a special Rigpa prayer gathering in Bodhgaya, India from 1 to 16 March 2019. This will be an opportunity to gather and unite our hearts and minds in prayer and meditation at the very place where the Buddha reached enlightenment, at the Vajra seat under the Bodhi Tree. We will practise from both the Sutra and Tantra tradition, including Narak Kong Shak and Vajrasattva. We will also spend time in silent meditation and quiet mantra recitation.

This retreat presents a rare opportunity to receive a complete transmission of this classic Tibetan Buddhist sacred text. ‘The Words of My Perfect Teacher’ was composed by the great Nyingma master, Patrul Rinpoche.

The work is an explanation of the Longchen Nyingtik ngöndro, the preliminary practices from the Longchen Nyingtik cycle of teachings, discovered by Jikmé Lingpa.

This famous commentary is a completely faithful written record of the oral teachings Patrul Rinpoche received directly from his teacher, Jikmé Gyalwé Nyugu.
