2010 In June, 500 people attend the opening celebrations for the Tenzin Gyatso Institute at Tongnyi Nyingjé Ling—the ‘Center for Wisdom and Compassion’—in upstate New York. Six Tibetan monks enrol at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and one at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts, as part of the Tenzin Gyatso Institute’s Scholars Program.

Visiting teachers at Lerab Ling during the summer include Yangsi Kalu Rinpoche, Ringu Tulku Rinpoche, Khenchen Pema Sherab, Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche and Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche.

His Holiness Sakya Trizin, Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche and Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche teach at the Rigpa centre in Berlin.

In July, Dilgo Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche visits Lerab Ling as part of the celebrations for the centenary of the birth of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. He is accompanied by Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche and Matthieu Ricard.

In October, the Third International Forum on Buddhism and Medicine takes place at Lerab Ling, on the subject of Meditation and Health. The speakers are: Dr. Ursula Bates, Dr. Lucio Bizzini, Dr. Cathy Blanc, Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, Dr. Sara Lazar, Dr. Edel Maex, Rosamund Oliver, Sogyal Rinpoche, Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche, Dr. Erika Rosenberg, Dr. Frédéric Rosenfeld and Dr. Clifford Saron.

Sogyal Rinpoche teaches at the first Rigpa retreat in Spain, and speaks at the International Conference on Tibetan Buddhism at Emory University in Atlanta.

In November, Sogyal Rinpoche makes his first visit to Brazil, giving public talks and teachings in Três Coroas, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

 

 

2011 In May, Sogyal Rinpoche gives a talk to 700 young people in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Khenchen Pema Sherab, Ringu Tulku Rinpoche, Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche, Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche and Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche teach at Lerab Ling during the summer.

On 2nd September, a number of eminent lamas and monks attend the Dung Chö ceremonies for Khandro Tsering Chödrön at Lerab Ling, which are presided over by HH Sakya Trizin.

In November, Sogyal Rinpoche is one of the speakers at the Global Buddhist Congregation in New Delhi, India, a gathering of representatives of the different Buddhist traditions.
